An Ode to Creative Work

Behind every great advancement, in every industry, there is a creative mind.

Creativity may come easy, but creation is hard.

The late nights spent trying, and failing, and trying again.

All the while, holding onto our vision.
Pushing what we see in our mind’s eye into the world. « Read the rest of this entry »

6 Rules of Success by Arnold Schwarzenegger

Arnold’s 6 Rules to Success:

1. Trust yourself

Many young people are getting so much advice from their parents and from their teachers and from everyone. But what is most important is that you have to dig deep down, dig deep down and ask yourselves, who do you want to be? Not what, but who. Figure out for yourselves what makes you happy, no matter how crazy it may sound to other people.

2. Break the Rules

Break the rules, not the law, but break the rules. It is impossible to be a maverick or a true original if you’re too well behaved and don’t want to break the rules. 20 Words That Can Change Your Life

March 18, 2011 § 1 Comment

Take charge of your life by beginning something you’ve always wanted to do. If your goal seems overwhelming, start small.

“By daring to begin the life you’ve always wanted, you become energized.”

Your imagination has no boundaries.

“Dreaming about something is the first step towards achieving it. “

Set your mind to predict success. Tell yourself you will succeed at whatever you’re doing at the moment.

Allow yourself to grow by exposing your vulnerability and insecurity. Don’t live strictly inside your comfort zone-done always play it safe.

You can’t grow if you don’t trust your inner voice.

“… being paralyzed by indecision is worth than making the wrong decision.”

Relationships are what pull us through the hard times, and make the good times meaningful. Take time to nurture the connections that uplift you.

Try listening carefully to the other person’s point of view first, without being preoccupied or distracted.
You’ll really hear what is being said and the other person is more likely to pay attention to your views.

We can always find something that “needs to be done” and we forget how to have fun.
Make a conscious effort to take time off – you’ll feel refreshed and able to think more clearly afterwards. « Read the rest of this entry »

A Bulldog will meet the Archers on Feb 15, 2011.

I was invited by the Student Council and the Council of Student Organizations to give a talk to DLSU’s annual Lasallian Enrichment Alternative Program (LEAP). LEAP is a one-day event that aims to holistically develop Lasallians by offering alternative classes, which cater to their special interests.

The topic will be “Blogging to Fame”. For some reason I hesitated at first, for I don’t consider myself famous nor an internet celebrity. But I gladly accepted the invitation, to share my good and bad experiences for almost 4 years in fashion blogging.

See you guys on Feb 15, 2011 at Room Y405. « Read the rest of this entry »
